2008 has indeed been a year with contrasts from the beginning of the year to its end; from high economical growth to a global recession, inflation to deflation, hype in raw material prices to their collapse, job security to fear, and ample business opportunities to survivals. In spite of the general pessimist business predictions for the year 2009, we at ESKADENIA have been more determined to remain focused on IT and Sales with an increased motivation.

ESKADENIA started 2008 with the strategic decision to change the legal status to a Private Shareholding Company accompanied with a raise in the company’s registered working capital. This change was an anticipated outcome from the very natural and steady growth that ESKADENIA Software has been undergoing in the past few years.

We have focused throughout the past year on the successful closure of projects and perfection of products towards an enhanced level of performance. Our products’ features and quality levels have been improved in all aspects and across the whole portfolio. We noticed as well a considerable increase in the sales of certain product areas such Enterprise Software, which would make the company more reliant on a product mix rather than a single area.

In general, we notice that our recent deployment projects take less time to complete, allowing us more time for innovation. We anticipate moreover that an increasing portion of our future projects will be in the global marketplace which comes as a fulfillment of our corporate vision to become a global supplier of software.

On the product development level, ESKADENIA^® BCRM (Convergent Billing and Customer Relationship Management System) has been further developed to cover broadband services as has been recently applied at KULACOM, Jordan’s first integrated wireless broadband provider.

We have proudly launched new systems such as ESKADENIA^® SMS-C (Short Message Service Centre) at the Mobile World Congress 2008 in Barcelona and later in the year we launched the new release of ESKADENIA^® M-Wallet (Mobile Wallet System). With those systems we considered the latest industry recommendations and market needs and ESKADENIA is more than before being recognised as a serious technology provider.

Our e-insurance systems were launched at leading regional insurance companies including; Jordan Insurance, Dubai Insurance, STI in Nigeria and SANAD in Saudi Arabia. On the education level, we secured strategic projects with the King’s Academy and the International Academy in Jordan.

ESKADENIA has continued its tradition of being an employer of choice and a good corporate citizen in Jordan by extending active support to local educational and social institutions and by focusing on the creation of new job and training opportunities for ICT graduates.

A challenging year has successfully passed and another is on the way and our aim has been and still is to pass through this period stronger, leaner and as a market winner. Our past has shown that we thrive when the going is tough as the key is to be better than the competition in all what we do.
